Figure 1. Grid Bots returns after 138 days turned $6506 into $12,293 — July 1st, 2024

Abstract

After starting a first grid bot on Bitcoin on February 14, 2024 with an initial capital of $3,143. Then I added an additional $3,363 onto an Ethereum grid bot for a total initial capital invested of $6,506. My total capital at this point is $12,293 down from $12,737 from a month ago (-3.5%), however I have now accumulated more ETH and BTC since Bitcoin in the same time frame had -6% return, while Ethereum had 7% of drawdown also. I took some profits from the main bot and initiated a new bot on the PEPE meme coin 10 days ago.

Figure 2. Grid Bot capital on June 1st, 2024

I initiated a new ETHBTC grid bot on June 14, 2024 using 20X leverage instead of 10X with a slightly different range between 0.043 and 0.077 instead of 0.05 and 0.08.

Figure 3. Technical Analysis of ETHBTC pair as of June 13, 2024

Based on Figure 3, I picked my range to be 0.043, and the Super Guppy indicator is in the green on a daily time frame. I expect that any moment trading of the ETH ETF will start and could result in a God candle. Worse case scenario, the ratio could go down but in such case I’ll just be accumulating more ETH until it eventually outperforms Bitcoin. As well, the Stochastic RSI is currently at the bottom for the daily timeframe, which is not a bad time to accumulate and we are near a strong horizontal support zone.

Figure 4. ETHBTC grid bot configuration

My liquidation price for this bot is very acceptable considering the 20X leverage, so I feel decently safe that even though there might be market manipulation on Bitcoin and Ethereum by large entities, I don’t believe I’m excessively at risk of liquidation.

Current return for the #ETHBTC bot

It is a modest 2.45% ROI of matched profits for the last 17 days, but overall returns including unrealized profits is at 14.27%, that would become realized if I would terminate the bot right now.

Grid Bot on PEPE Meme Coin

Since the matched profits generated per day on the ETHBTC pair was much lower than I like, I decided to take some profits from the main bot to create a new bot on something more volatile. I considered both ENS and PEPE as both are highly correlated to Ethereum but more volatile. I ended up choosing PEPE for reason explained in this video.

Thus far the results are strong with much higher matched profits at 11.49% in only 10 days, while overall profits are sitting at 17.34%.

As well, I will readjust my strategy along the way to adapt to market conditions and I will describe such time-sensitive changes on x.com/Crypto_Rookies.

Is the strategy on track to generate $1M before mid-2025?

Please refer to my earlier post for an explanation of the strategy. Overall, I’m relatively pleased with the results, however at the current rate of return, I don’t think I will be able to reach my million dollar target before a major market collapse. In any market, returns above 10% per month account for more than 200% ROI per year with compounding which is amazing, however in the crypto industry this is almost considered weak. On the other hand, my results are quite consistent and with relatively low risks, so I don’t think I need to change much for the moment. Since February my returns are sitting at an average of 19.3% per month which is more than acceptable.

The power of compounding is important to understand; let’s make a hypothetical scenario based on the current results of 89% ROI in 138 days. It would make me miss my target of reaching $1M by mid-2025, however I have a feeling things may grow faster than expected later in the cycle. However, I expect returns between September and December to be much higher because of global liquidities increasing as the US goes into election season.

Summary

Once a month, I will publish an updated blog post on the results and discuss if I am on track to achieve my goals. Meanwhile, do not forget to follow me on Twitter (x.com/Crypto_Rookies) to get more time-sensitive changes to my trades for any of my investment strategies. While such returns seem out of reach, I have achieved much higher returns in the last crypto bull market, however I had not learned to take enough profits before the market crash even if I knew it was starting to overheat. I strongly advise anyone who follows me to not make this mistake, and make sure to understand that everyone is a genius in a bull market, but taking profits along the way can feel bad until there is a significant collapse at which point you’ll very much appreciate the sacrifice.
